Microbiomes: a new definition published!
MicrobiomeSupport is an initiative that supports the International Bioeconomy Forums’ working group on ‘food systems microbiomes’. In a recently published article, a (re-)definition of the 'microbiome' is presented. This definition can be broadly used, and ensures an accurate exchange on the topic within research circles. Ahead of World Microbiome Day, which took place on June 27th, Microbiome Support already published additional information, including updated infographics. These show that microbes occur everywhere in the food system and why they are important.
The definition, as well as more information, can be found at the MicrobiomeSupport website.
