Towards a Knowledge Hub on munitions in the sea
The Joint Programming Initiative on Oceans is working towards a Knowledge Hub under their joint action ‘Munitions in the Sea’. In order to further the development of such a Hub, and to exchange ideas, on the 16th and 17th of September 2020, experts from research and practice, and representatives of JPI Oceans’ Management Board were brought together. During these two days, they connected with the aim of progressing towards concrete goals and deliverables that could be pursued.
The ‘Munitions in the Sea’ joint action is a collaborative effort of Belgium, Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal and Sweden. The Knowledge Hub is meant as a support to policy decisions and interventions, and should provide a framework to structure transnational collaboration and offer useful services & products to users of expert knowledge. As a next step, the deliverables and recommendations of the workshop will be put to the JPI Oceans Management Board for approval at its next meeting on the 12th and 13th of November 2020.
